Default I opened some vintage packs last night...

I posted this on CU but I thought some of you may enjoy it. I opened these packs last night...

And here are the highlights:

'77 Topps (3 wax packs)

'79 Topps (2 rack packs)

'80 Topps (1 cello)

'82 Topps (3 rack packs)

'01 Topps Traded (10 packs)

Lots of other HOFers (and about 25 George Fosters!) but this is the best stuff.

Jarrod after reading this I thought it would be great to buy some 1977 packs for my son who was born in 77 to open on his birthday this week. I purchased 3 packs from a dealer in California and gave them to my son on his birthday Wednesday. I got that sick feeling in my stomach when I saw that the first pack he opened was not even sealed and the cards were face up to the bottom of the pack (My memory was that they should have been face up to the front of the pack). The pack contained all very common commons. The other two packs were lightly sealed and again contained commons unless you want to call Don Sutton a minor star.

Back between 1987 and 1994 when he and I were working card shows at least 2 weekends a month he put together a nice NM-Mt 1977 set that is the pride of his collection. I hope the PSA 8 Nolan Ryan 1977 Cloth I also gave him Wednesday makes up for any disappointment he had over the cards that came out of the 77 packs.

That's a bummer, Keith. Although I will say that I have had the worst luck out of '77s, but I still like them. The Mark Fidrych RC and a Steve Carlton are by far my best '77 pulls.
