Default Looking for Grading Advice: 48 Leaf Jackie Robinson

Hey guys,

As some of you may have seen, I picked up a collection from one of my college friends. Part of his collection was handed down from his dad who started collecting in the late 40s.

Included was a 48 Leaf Jackie Robinson!

As you can see it is inked up. My friend said his dad wrote on some of them to indicated their team. "BD" for Brooklyn Dodgers. My guess is it would be 2.5-3ish without the ink. I already reached out (gonewiththestain) about potentially having the ink removed but this is not an option.

I am making this a permanent part of my collection but I would like some advice on grading this card for insurance purposes

Which company should I use? I am leaning SGC but I am interested in your thoughts.

Should I indicate that AUTH is acceptable or go for a numeric grade?

Thanks,

Kris

I think the most you would get from SGC would be a 1.5. If you think it's a 3 otherwise, a 3 (MK) by PSA counts as a 2 in the set registry. Auth would be okay, but people will think it's been tampered with. Better to get a number grade, in my opinion.

Oh, what a difference a year makes.
