Default Collectibles That Logistically Must Stay!

I have a few collectibles that I can't let depart, even if I wanted to.

Here is one that I will bring out as a good-luck piece for the upcoming Astros-Yankees playoff series - it's the home plate from the opening series between Houston and New York in 2014 on April 1-3. Houston took two out of three, Nolan throwing out the first pitch (which did not come close to crossing this plate ), it was Derek Jeter's last opening day and the beginning of Jose Altuve's break-out season. Runs scored by Ichiro, Jeter and Altuve.

It's heavy as heck. When I bought it from MLB back in 2014, I was very curious how they would ship it. It arrived just sitting in the bottom of a massive box - couldn't have flopped around if it wanted to. I decided immediately not to continue collecting home plates.

Here's mine. From the upper-deck ironwork of the original (1923) Yankee Stadium. At about 400 pounds, it's not going anywhere.

Not quite the same, but I've thought about an antiques dealer who has for sale the furniture he uses in his house.

I recall a post a few months back that featured some huge/magnificent semi-circular windows from Forbes Field.

Those might be a decent candidate for this topic... I know that I'd be hesitant to move them!

Great piece! If you don't mind me asking, how do you have it displayed or is it just hanging out in the yard? If the later, very jealous as I had to move out of the city to get a yard.

Right now it's in the yard. Still haven't convinced my wife to let me bring it in the house!
Someday I will have it repainted in its original sea foam green, and bring it in.

Looks like you're using the word "yard" a little loosely.

No way I would repaint that.

There is a guy on Ebay who is offering the 2013 All-Star Game logo that was displayed underneath the Starting Lineup display at the top of the rotunda at Citi Field. He's had this on Ebay for quite some time.

He wants $2,000 for it. I didn't, and don't, have that kind of money - but if I did, I would have loved to buy it... except that I don't have where to put it.

(Not to be confused with the logo that was displayed beneath the Citi Vision in center field. That's still in the ballpark, and still accessible to the public, but it's been moved to a secluded, low-traffic area.)
