I am interested in obtaining some cards from this set for my Cardinals collection but I really don't know anything about it. I was hoping someone here would have some knowledge/info. to share on the set.

My main concern is reprints or fakes. Are there many known reprints/fakes/counterfeits of these cards? If so what should I look out for?

Are theses cards listed in any of the price guides?

Last but not least I was wondering if anyone knew what Cardinals appear in the set? My usual source for team-set checklist does not contain this set.

Yes, these are listed in the Standard Catalog.
VERY tough to find in high grade condition (my Joe DiMaggio is SGC 3.5, which I think is the highest graded). Most of them were meant to pasted into some kind of album, which means a lot of the backs are damaged when they took them out. They come with yellow or orange borders (I personally have seen more yellows than oranges, so I am not sure if orange is more rare maybe?), and the paper stock is kind of thin.

I have never seen a fake out there, but I am sure wherever there is a high dollar card, there is someone who will make a counterfeit.

Many consider the Stan Musial card in this set to be a rookie card, it is one of the key cards to the set. There are probably other Cardinals, I don't have a checklist handy right now though.
