Nice score Mike. Does that pin have the easel back stand? That sucka is huge, probably could be used as a frisbee. Nice pre-1969 Tigers pin.

Adam, It does have the easel back and I'm particularly impressed with the condition. Very minimal wear.

A new arrival 3 1/4" 1968 Tigers pin. Not particularly rare and has foxing, but it was super cheap and keeps our thread going

Great collection Tony...thanks for posting.

Here is my latest and favorite addition to my pinback collection. One of the best aspects of this acquisition is that it comes from a good friend and fellow board member Al (batsballsbases). We had a great time discussing pins in general and this piece in particular before he offered it to me at an extremely fair price. I can’t thank you enough Al This pin has been in my sights for years.

An absolute beauty Mike. Definately one of the best pre-world war two pinbacks for sure. The classic oval type combined with a team photo of a champion club stocked with some of the games all time greats and your favorite team no less. It has it all!!! Adam

Default Neat thread! Do I have a good pin?

I don't actively collect pins but my father-in-law gave me the pin below a few years ago. He apparently went to the playoffs/world series in 1967 and kept it all these years. It now hangs on my wall...it has a little foxing, but is in good shape otherwise. Diameter is about 3 1/2 inches and the ribbons are attached with "vintage" masking tape. Anyone have any idea how common these are, value, etc.???

Play-offs didn't begin until 1969. It is a WS pin from 1967 against the Cardinals. They made some great combination pinbacks and ribbons that year. The ribbon really adds to the charm of the pinback. Without foxing (brown spots) I would place the value at $75.

Finally was able to take a photo of these they stand about 1 foot tall.
Both pins came with the original Dolls that were sold for the 1938 world series. Here is one instance where the items added to the pins or if you prefer the other way around make the item worth more. Note the nice "C" and "NY" on the dolls.

It was a terrific week for pinbacks. There are more on the way, but two of these are the most exciting. The Hartnett is a very common pin. The White Sox is a condition rarity for some reason, but not tough to find. The red letter crossed bats Cubs is a pretty scarce pin that I've been waiting years to find. My favorite is the Grimm, which comes via a trade with Andy (thank you my friend). I've never had an opportunity to acquire this Charlie Grimm pin. In fact, I don't think I've seen another outside of Paul's book.

Mike,

It will be here a long time Mike, but thanks.

I just finished this shadow box to feature my new Cubs team pin. I know it's a bit plain, but I wanted a classic look tha didn't detract from the pin. You like?

Mike,
Now you need the Certified's Ice Cream pins to place around the 1929 pin!

I hear you Mike. I only have Hornsby. If you have dupes of the others, I would love a crack at them.

Default Two more Tigers by the tail

These just arrived. The 68 is pretty common, but the Briggs Stadium from the 50s is a bit of a challenge...for me at least.

Impressive Mike. That Briggs Stadium is a tough one, doesn't come up too often anymore. You are on a serious roll for pinbacks this month my friend. Adam

We should probably start a first of the year pinback extravaganza, but I'll give this one another plug with lots that arrived today. The Tiger is an ebay purchase and the other four came from my friend Greg F. (Sayhey24). You should check out his site. Here is a link:
