Default Canada Post on strike (no mail in Canada)

The thread "Our Canadian brethren....." reminded me to post this matter about the current Canada Post labour strike. You can catch some of the details here:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/...ke-friday.html

Long story short, the mail has not been delivered or received in Canada the past several days. The government is planning back-to-work legislation in the next few days to get things moving again.

If you are expecting mail from Canada, or are planning to send mail to Canada, there will be issues, at least for the short-term.

It's a shame whenever a well-oiled, fine-tuned machine grinds to a halt.

On the bright side, our Canucks were the penultimate team in the Stanley Cup finals!

Brian
Thanks for the info. Did not know this was going on in Canada.
Same or similar may occur here in future.

Default Canada

The USPS will stop accepting mail bound for Canada effective close of business today, except for Global Express Guaranteed, which will still be accepted and guaranteed. Hopefully the strike will end soon.

BTW, it is against the law for US postal workers to strike.

I cringe to think of the 15+ cards I have sitting out there in limbo.....You'll be fine little guys, be brave.

I just hope the box of cards I shipped to a Canadian buyer last week will eventually make it there so I won't have to get one of those crappy "reminder" notices from eBay.

Sorry, not correctly worded, was a generalized statement(not referring to the USPS)
