Lucky enough to find 3 color variations I needed for my master set. The gold fronts have become extremely tough to find lately. Thanks to those fellow board members who backed off on these 3 cards so the high prices didn't beome reach crazy status!

Some of those cards look fantastic. Why did they grade low? Are they hand cut or something? I don't know anything about George Close Candy cards so please relieve me of my ignorance. Thanks.

Congrats on the E94s guys. I also picked up a couple last night. Will post scans later.

Brian,
That Leach is terribly overgraded!

Couple late May stragglers. I didn't realise Chase Pink portrait came with EPDG. Whats the rarest back the Pinkie can come with? Very happy with the T216 been searching awhile thanks

Leon,

I thought that was the most attractive piece in the auction.

I tracked it throughout...and very nearly placed a late bid.

I'm glad to see its in your hands.

If you ever want to part with it...(I'm reaching for my wallet)

Best,

Leon, love that one -- I was a bidder on it late and went for another one instead. Really interesting card; reminded me of something the real DK picked up in last year's REA.

Dave,

No, I dont have the Austin. I actually needed the purple Lake that sold last night as well. Unfortunately (at least with respect to the cards) I was out of the country all last week and I completely forgot to set my snipes when I got back. Bob - you owe me one.

Brian - terrific looking cards.

those e94s were electric, some of them were so nice for the grade i'm glad most went to board members. too expensive for me so i'm happy with these lower-tiered caramels.

Josh- If I can ever find an upgrade on the violet Austin, this one's yours, promise.
Jim- Dang it! I wondered who out-distanced me for that Byrne. If you ever decide to part with it or if I could swap you a different color Byrne in same or better condition (when I can get a dupe color), let me know. I have 5 of the 6 Byrnes but no duplicates at this time.
tbob
P.S. If anyone has an olive Byrne E94 they might wish to part with, let me know, regardless of condition.

Bob- sharp cards, especially the Evers. Congrats on getting 3 steps closer.

JimB- sharp cards as well. Perhaps you & Bob can eventually work out a trade, provided that it works out well for both of you. As far as the Leach goes, yeah i gotta agree, they were a bit lenient on that one.

Eric- Though they aren't pictured here (yet), you did well, and ended up with a few of them, didn't you?

Quan- nice group of cards. still very collectible.

Mike, Todd & Danny- Some nice looking stuff, as well.

JK & Jason L- Thank You

However guys, Leon steals the show (again)
Great looking card Leon- i haven't seen that one before.
Very Impressive.

Thanks to all for sharing.

Picked this one up for my Dad...Fatima. He was in the last stages of Alzheimer's.I Showed him the card on Sunday, hoping to see some life in his eyes, with no response. His favorite player was Mel Ott, he loved the NY Giants. I listened to
many of stories of Ott's greatness and other prewar players.
Football was his main passion, he had a scholarship to Wake Forest. Left to become a Marine, during the Korean War. He pasted away on Monday... GBHS Love you Dad.

Bob,
I would be happy to trade if you have an equivalent or better one. Since abandoning my crazy master set aspirations, the color does not matter to me. Would love to help. Just getting any Byrne has proven to be tough for me, so I was aggressive on this one.

Hey Bill--my deepest condolences on your loss. My mother-in-law is battling that same dreaded disease so have an idea what you've been thru. Great that you have Mel Ott and the other great memories you shared with him.

My condolences, RC

I was happy to add this one off the Bay last night. Not sure if it was due to the card being tilted in the holder in the scan or not (thanks PSA), but I thought it went fairly low...

Anthony was going through his collection Sunday night, and noticed one of his cards has the Howe McCormick stamp on the back. He went through some posts, finds me, asks me if I want it, three days later, its in Omaha! Thanks!

This has happened a couple of times now. Some I've been able to buy outright, some I've been able to trade for. Some I'm still working on getting appropriate cards to swap for, some I'll have to wait until after the next auction to go after. But I do really appreciate all the help I get from board members.

Anthony, don't have access to home e-mail from work today (weather?), but I'll e-mail you from home tonight. Thanks again.

That's a beautiful McPhee cabinet card. I actually have the Cincinnati team cabinet card that matches your individual McPhee.
