Default where are all the Ruth cards????

Posted By: Dan Koteles

yes ,I would like to know. In nearly 19 yrs of collecting pre war baseball cards , I have owned 2 Babe Ruth ball cards and
wonder why I do not have any now !

I see Goudeys offed once in awhile, but not much more then that. Ruth surprisingly is not mentioned that often and someone , somewhere.....must have all the answers...anybody?

My guess is that you aren't willing to pay market price for them. There are plenty of them around. In pre-war graded cards, Ruth cards are like Mantle cards in the post-war graded arena. There are plenty to go around if you have the dough.

I like that w-551 best of the 4- thanks
D.V, I would pay a market price for something other then GOudeys, his rookie. I think that an e121 would be favorable
in any condition 2 and above.

At one time ,Barry Sloate sold me one and I traded it for another Green Cobb. That was when I was on my mission for 100 Cobbs, so I thought that I did well.

Is there a Willard's card of Ruth ?....Iam usually t&e cards
from 1900's-1914...so I dont know.

Dan -- I realize that my answer seemed a little "flip", which was not my intention. I merely meant that Ruth cards are quite prevalent. Here's a scan of my Willard's Ruth. I also have a Neilson's Chocolate at SGC getting graded.

I just havent seen any of the more popular ones, just holding a bird and Goudeys

I still am amazed at the collections that exist on this board. Everyday someone come forward to show a card that just sits me back a little. You may see my Ruth cards at an auction house near you sometime soon.

What's the least I can reasonably expect to pay for a mid-grade Ruth that is NOT a strip card?
