Default Memory Lane Auction

Posted By: dan mckee

I may be paranoid but this is the 2nd major auction (other was a different company) in the last 30 days that I have left a ceiling bid and I was the lead bidder by less than half of my ceiling. When I check this morning, well guess what, I just happened to win at exactly my ceiling.

Someone please tell me that these are just coincidences and that one of you actually left a ceiling on an item and that you won it for less. Thanks Dan.

We won the PSA 8 1933 Goudey of Warneke for two increments less than
our ceiling bid

Guys, with all respect -- leaving a ceiling bid on a Memory Lane auction? Talk about letting the fox guard the henhouse!

I do not like leaving a ceiling bid in any auction these days but I just can't stay awake any more. Thanks Bruce, I think I am just having bad or maybe good luck since I am still winning. Dan

If you are maxing ceiling bids out, I certainly wouldn't do all of them, just a few so it isn't so noticeable. I also feel like Jeff if you are bidding on auctions that there are serious warnings so should not be surprised when something does go wrong.
