Default A bit ot ebay trouble; can anyone explain how to deal with this

I buy an item from a seller who takes paypal. I don't want to use paypal. The ebay checkout system keeps routing me to paypal. Is there a way to stop it from doing that?

...wait until the seller contacts you and then respond with how you'd like to pay.

Did the seller have PayPal as the only authorized method of payment?

If that is the case, Ebay kind of locks you into paying that way.

I'd guess sending the seller a question would work to get information as well.

I agree. Paypal sucks. One seller I dealt with put the wrong email address. It cost me twice as much in tied up money for about 3 weeks. I ended up canceling my credit card and got a new one to avoid Paypal trying to get money they weren't entitled to. I won't buy anything where the seller requests only paypal.

This is probably stating the obvious, but you can try email'ing the seller, or, eBay has a feature whereby you can request their telephone #.
