Default Need Help Identifying Blankets

Posted By: David Barkus

I purchased these blankets 20+ years ago as part of a collection and only recently found them in my storage bin. I never tried to sell them because I didn't know what they are or how to price them. I would appreciate any assistance in properly identifying and pricing them. I don't plan to collect them so I would be willing to sell them for a reasonable price (whatever that is) or else I will put them on ebay.

Default Need Help Identifying Blankets

Those are B18 blankets. They're from 1914 and were issued with Egyptienne Straights cigarettes. There are 90 different subjects (plus one spelling variation). Each player has between two and three different color combinations. Some of the variations carry premiums, particular the brown infields found with Boston and Detroit, as well as the very rare red infield variation for the same two teams.

I think of you check the eBay completed auctions you'll find the commons generally sell between $8-20 or so, with the Cobb and Jackson carrying the highest premiums.

Jeff
