Default Your Favorite Hot Sauce?

I just put some TABASCO HABANERO on my pizza - yummy! This sauce is perfect for me, because it is not too hot, nor is it mild. I see it is around 7,000 - 8,000 SHU.

Based on the above information, it looks like mine is pretty mild compared to the others!

Anyways, is there anyone here who likes their hot sauce? Which one is your favorite?

I once tried something called Black Mamba 6 Get Bitten. Will never do so again. Recovery time was considerable. I like hot and spicy food but some of the peppers today are seemingly just meant to maime and incapacitate.

I used to have a company that sold hot sauce, we had about 200 different types. We had stuff that would literally burn a hole in your throat, stomach, whatever. Napalm'd its way thru your entire system. Not a lot of fun but good drinking stories.

When you're done killing yourself, these are my favorites:
Nando's Peri Peri, from South Africa. Various levels of heat, with a really good flavor.
Melindas/Marie Sharp's hot sauce, from Belize and Costa Rica (same company different names). Various levels of heat, this sauce is built on a carrot base which sounds really weird but really works and you don't taste the carrot at all.
Sriracha- this is probably the best of all of them, and the cheapest. It's made in L.A. by a Vietnamese refugee, complete Horatio Alger story. Only one level of heat, but the flavor is great and it works on everything.

A proper hot sauce walks the tightrope between pain and pleasure.
We recommend liberal doses of Frank's RedHot Original and Frank's RedHot Wings
[ http://www.franksredhot.com/wings/hi...franks-redhot/ ]
-- plenty enough heat and sting to make you sweat bullets, but never lacking for actual flavour.

Trust us, we're from Buffalo, where the wings come from.

I love Daves Insanity Sauce. This stuff is light you up hot and when used in very small amounts has great flavor. One of my easy favorites is to add one drop to your butter when sauteing shrimp with the shell on.

My favorite Louisiana hot sauce is Crystal's

It's got a good blend of heat and flavor without as much vinegar as Tabasco..

Default Sauce

Pepper Palace Chocolate Habanero. I haven't tried the one from Fuego Box or from any other producer, but this one is really good. Pricey for a 5 oz. bottle (like all the others), but I bet you could put this on ice cream. It's that good.

Nice heat level and incredible flavor.
