Default What do you think? (Sweet Caporal pack)

Posted By: Richard Dwyer

I know the Sweet Caporal pack is bogus. What about the rest?

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZwaittilnextyear

I emailed him asking how the pack had a T206 card with a 1920's tax stamp. His response: I just checked again "August 5th. 1909." Yeah, right dude. I checked again and noticed that GAI put Factory 30 (?) 10th District, N.C. T206's never came from 10th. District N.C.

Also the Babe Ruth signature's in the hotel registry look completely different than the ones on the Baseballs.

Hi Richard,
These packs are produced from 1917-1922 during the "Ask Dad he knows" campaign. There are quite a few of the packs floating around, as 3 full cartons of 500 have been found over the last 10 years. I believe one carton was from MD and the other from New Jersey. Be well Brian

The seller claims that the unopened box has a T206 card in it.

Hi Richard,
It has a card all right, but it's an "Ask Dad he know" advertisement.

NO T206 possible...................

Brian - you are correct (and Richard too). I actually believe a few other cartons have been found, originating in Maryland. I'm not sure of the total number of packs discovered, but the later packs were all missing the wax wrapping. Again, they were all post 1917. Probably some early factory working chain smoker hoarded some freebies!

The first signature is not his, however, the second signature appears authentic.

I think he said the vice-presidencey wasn't worth a bucket of warm piss, modified in the polite press to warm spit.

Why worry about one of the two Ruths being bad; it is PSA/DNA authenticated and they would never make a mistake like that...
