I have recently purchased three w514s and I think they compliment my other cards quite well. They sure are different. |

I also have noticed these various "strip cards". Mostly the 1923 W515's to be exact. The cards are usually poorly cut, but lately I`ve seen some much better versions available on EBAY. Always considered the ugly duckling, for obvious reasons, but, they are affordable and so far for me anyway, just as much fun to try to complete. Ck out the 515-2 Ruth on ebay right now, it`s the highest graded one I`ve seen yet. |

my w572 Alexander is oversized. I was really tempted to trim it down for a better grade, but sent it in as it was and it still got a 60. I like the strip cards better with original cut rather than some professional looking cut to get a higher grade. |

I agree, the older handcut cards are true handcut`s. |

People trim up strip cards to try and get a higher grade, thus more money. Personal, I think it devlaues the card. I'd be willing to bet Julie's Felsch is a recent trim job |

5-7 years ago. Agreed, the Felch is probably a modern trim, and the Gandil a very old one. |

where the concessions girl (John Cleese, but anyway) is selling albatross and some one asks him what flavor. "what do you mean, what flavor? It's bloody albatross flavor!" what do they mean hand cut? of course it's hand cut. |
