The twins were lost in a miscarriage last night. Even though she was 5 months along, the doctors were unable to save either one. She was just in to see the doctor Thursday. He said all was well and they were girls. We had names picked out already, this made it really hard. Their names were Aryanna Audrey and Annika Lillian.

Anyone know where I can trade my collection to get them back?

Jay

Jay, sorry to hear that news. As a father who had twins born 10 weeks early, I can tell you that nothing is ever easy when it comes to twins. Hang in there and sorry for your loss.

Jay,

I just don't know what to say. Can't come close to imagining what you and your wife are going through right now. Just keep Aryanna and Annika in your hearts, and they'll always be with you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife.

Steve

Jay -- I have been there before, three times. I can only say that while you will probably always think of what might have been (I know I do), the pain does lessen over time, and life will go on for both of you.

I think each of you will discover there are many, many people who have gone through what you're experiencing. They will be people you know well, and people you've never met -- a friend's sister, a cousin, etc. I'm certain all of them would be happy to talk with either of you about it, if you need to. It will help.

And please do not let her (or yourself) focus on "what if's", or start blaming yourselves. This was out of your control -- a million things had to go perfectly right, and only one thing had to go wrong. This happened because it did, not because of something you did or didn't do.

It's not the first miscarriage for me. When I was married my ex-wife had a miscarriage but it was only about 8 weeks in and we hadn't picked a name yet. Having already picked names makes this especially hard.

Jay,

I'm sure that there are many of us that would add our collections to yours, if by doing so we had the power to change the outcome. Take comfort in knowing that this community of friends, shares your grief, and hopes that you and your family will give each other the strength needed to deal with the unimaginable pain.
During these Jewish High Holy Days, my family will surely say a prayer for you and your family.

Hank & Scott
