Wow Orlando, I think you did a great job of picking cards that look particularly good for their technical grade. Those are the beautiful.

Thanks for the compliment. You have encapsulated my collecting mantra in that sentence. Low grade cards with great centering that present well-above grade is what I buy. And while i am thrilled with my cj cobb, Erik's looks like it just came out of a box !!!

Default I love opening the mail...

..there must have been a document dump somewhere earlier this year because I've never been able to pair up so many of my cards with their original photos ;
...I just received the "Underwood & Underwood" 5 x 7 'Oral Hildebrand P.-Cleveland' which was used to create the 1933 Worch Cigar Premium "O. Hildebrand Cleveland A.L.". The Worch measures 3 1/2 x 5 1/2. I love the pose and the intense look on his face.

Default September pickups

Really happy to pick up these 4 over the weekend. Especially the Colgan's Tin Tops they have been hard to come by lately.

It never ceases to amaze me the condition some of these cards are in after all these years!

Some definitely loved their cards, even way back then.

Been a busy September, FINALLY (2 years later) picked up a Matty. Now I'm only a Bresnahan, Grover Alexander and Dick Hoblitzell away from having a card to match everyone in my tobacco ad. Have Cobb, Mathewson, and Huggins.

Default Number 293 Rejoins the Others

Thanks to Bryan (Jobu) who spotted this one early on in the auction/BIN process and let me know about it. Couple of hours later, I think we may have a new board member and I've got another HoFer in the rebuilt collection. Thanks for the help, Bryan.

What a coincidence! Another of Howe's cards right after the Speaker. NJ, do you know about Ed's McCormick collection? Seems like you have a card to trade him!

I think they call this T216-1, it's on the thin paper and a t213-2 Baker...

Hmm... I now feel that Mr. Durham doesn't quite belong around these parts! I have reached out to Mr. McCollum and we are in discussion for the card. Thank you for the observations, everyone :]

Growing up and attending local card shows there was always a dealer who sat up and brought along what looked like a higher grade 1953 Topps Mantle. I remember it being displayed in one of those 1 inch screw down holders and what a beautiful card it was. I'm happy to own a copy of the card I alway remember admiring as a kid. Thank you Andy for another smooth transaction

I picked up this trade card at the Valley Forge show yesterday. It's a stock card that printed the advertiser's information in the blank space between the bat and catcher's mask/bats. The card measures 4 3/8" X 7 3/8" and is printed on heavier stock. It was produced in 1886 by Ketterlinus Lithographers, one of Philadelphia's premier printers/lithographers of the late 19th/early 20th century. The baseball scene on this card was a stock depiction for Ketterlinus and is identified by the number 2217 beneath the ball.

Enjoy, Mike

This piece is signed by Lou Boudreau, Larry Doby, and Bob Feller. Got it for a steal.

1934 Goudey Charlie Gehringer. Card looks better than the grade in my opinion.

Jim Thome lot, including my first ever 1/1 in my collection.

1927 W560 Waite Hoyt, with a strong grade might I add for a Hand Cut card.

And I will now go back into my hole of shame while posts of Cobbs, Ruths, etc. surround this post...
