Maybe doing a monthly pick up thread could work. That way it's sort of a timed thing and we can be a little more orderly....here's one (also please try to make your scans only 1x size so the downloads don't take too long)

Not baseball but a very exciting find for me. Maybe the earliest known hockey card from a pro league.

Jim F.

do you have an ID for that? Is it a cabinet card ? I presume it is un-cataloged ?

edited to add the only entrant from a slow week.

Sorry i did not realize the scan was so big. It is uncatalogued. It has a postcard back, but so far the few pre 1910 hockey cards discovered have been postcard style. A prominent postcard dealer dated it to 1900-1915 from the back and printing style. The manager of the Hockey Hall of Fame Archive department dated it to 1900-1909 based on the uniform. He along with a couple others are helping me identify the team logo. It may be a long shot to identify the player. There is not much info or photos of pre NHL hockey. Thanks, Jim

I would expand your search to European teams, as well. I don't believe there was a team with a "B" on their jerseys in the AHA, CAHL, or NHL that I can remember until 1924.

Some cabinets and cards were produced in Europe (Great Britan being one of the most prominent) around this time.

There were 3 or 4 pro teams from Berlin, Ontario(now Kitchener/Waterloo) about an hour outside Toronto. We are focusing on the Berlin Professionals right now. Jim

Great postcard, hockey_jim! I hope you're able to find some information on it.

A 1932 Denby premium picturing the Bear's championship team (6 HOFer's pictured). The Clarke is obviously beat, but the image is superb.

Perfect examples, all have clean backs by the way. If I had to buy cards on ebay I'd be in trouble, haven't had any luck lately. Thanks to Colt, Quan, Dave and Tim and the Net54 B/S/T. Picked these up this week.

Does anyone know what set his Ty Cobb is from? I just picked up three cards from the set at a country auction. I am a very new collector and would like to know what I purchased. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I hope this posting works right. I'm pretty floored and humbled I got this card. It wasn't long ago I thought it was only a daydream that cards like this might exist.
