I have a set of the Topps 1968 3D cards and the 2012 Topps Lineage 3D subset, but have recently picked up these 3D looking cards on ebay from a guy who is making them as custom cards

From 1968

And from 2012

Kind of neat looking modern 3D cards. I have not typically collected the '68s as a set.

Al,

What's the quality on the custom cards? I saw them on eBay, but wasn't sure if I'd pick up the Brooks or not.

Uh...noticed you didn't post a '68 Brooks 3D; that's gotta be a future goal to try to acquire the "whole" set. What's a complete set w/o a modestly priced 3D card

Quality is decent, but there have been cracking issues on both the Topps and Kellogg issues over time.

A guy who sometimes posts here ( bobsbbcards) has one of the Robinson prototypes. I have decided I do not need it since it is a prototype and not part of the set . Nor do I have any of the 3 proof cards. Just the "basic" 12 card set and the 2 front variations of Fairly and Maloney

that Hank aaron one looks pretty cool looking. But not a buyer at all, but makes a good oddball piece.

Thanks for the input on the 3D cards; appreciate it.

I believe there was a thread talking about Topps test issues where the 3D was discussed and the last couple of sale prices for the Brooksie 3D; I think there are 3 or so known examples. A friend of mine in the hobby, Mike B., had one of the Brooks prototypes years ago, but sold it along the way. His prototype had the Xograph stamp on the back. I would love to get one one day, but I don't think that will happen due to cost constraints.

Congrats on the '68 3D's; those are toughies...
