Default 1952 Topps Priddy #28

Aloha, I was just looking through my 52 set, (something I never tire of) and noticed that the cropping on #28 Priddy is different on the black back version and the red back version. There is a window looking rectangle in the top left portion of the card that is chopped in one and not in the other.
Whenever I talk of 52's I like to point out that Zernial #31 has position listed on back as "ontfield" in both back color...never called or identified as an "uncorrected" error. Aloha, dave

David---I have all the red and back backs from the first series and will have to check that out as I had not noticed it before or heard it discussed. I do know there are other 1st series front variations tied to the back differences, like the Glaviano and Boone and Weheimer.

Thanks for the observation

I love those 52T's all the little known stuff, like that guy in the stands in the backgroung of Yogis 52T...who is that guy, and did he ever know he was on a baseball card?? I wonder sometimes why only one player in the set has a shoe visible?? How about the first card depicting a ground crew?? Sooo much cool stuff about them 52Ts. dave

Just finished rereading Tony Lema's golf classic GOLFER'S GOLD. He speaks very fondly of Jerry Priddy making the PGA tour long after his baseball days. He mentioned that all the players loved him, a really nice guy.

If memory serves, I think he had a dismal finish. Believe he served a prison term in the mid 70's for extortion.
