Default Show us your Blank-Backs (or your Blank Fronts) ?

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis

New Survey guys......let's see your legitimate BLANK-BACKS of 19th Century BB cards....
20th Century Candy-cards....T-cards....Gum cards....Bread cards....any other cards....?

Also, these are really rare....any BLANK-FRONTS ?

I've a T-206 with no pix on the Front and a Piedmont back. It is a legitimate card missing
it's front pix....it has not been de-laminated. When I get a chance I will scan it.

I think the blank fronts are much more rare than the blank backs, at least in my short tenure in the hobby....

Neat "anonymous" Ramly. 1st time I've seen one of those.

And, you're absolutely correct....Blank-Fronts are seldom seen; whereas, Blank-Backs
do show up now and then.

I would suspect that years ago a blank front would have been more likely to have been discarded than a blank back.

Maybe there were fewer blank fronts that got into circulation than blank backs... maybe not. But even if it happened in near equal amounts, I think the former idea is correct so blank fronts would exist in smaller numbers.

Frank.

In all probability the "blank front" ramly is a 2 piece ramly soaked apart. Most people are not aware that early Ramly card stock was in fact 2 pieces of paper stock adhered together. Later they became a single layer stock.

Bill, I am not familiar with the issue, but I believe W575-1's look like E121's. I have a killifer from the same set. Rhett should be able to help out if he reads this.

Bill,

I believe Joe is correct - w575-1's look exactly like the e121s, but they have blank backs (the paper stock is slightly different as well if Im not mistaken):

Here is one of two e93 blank backs that I own:

I could accept the T204 as the back part of a 2 piece card. It still doesn't have a front though....Have you seen other backs like this? Just courious..

The "front-less" T206 (with Piedmont back) that I have was the result of the front picture
just disintegrating and "flaking off" into many small bits.

I also, have an E-card that exhibits the same front disintegration. If I can find where I hid
these cards I will post scans of them.
