Default 1970 Topps #303 Error

Posted By: Matt

While going through a box of 1970 Topps Baseball I "discovered" that there is an error variation in the cartoon on the back of #303. I was wondering if this is a documented error and just how rare it is?

Thanks,

Matt

'70 Topps. I have (4) #303 with the ball. Since I try to do "Master Sets" the quest begins for one without the ball......and I thought I had all the '70 Topps variations........

set and #303 does not show the ball. Now I am not an error or master set collector so if this is rare, I have it purely by accident.

My #303 has no ball. If this becomes a valuable "error", I owe Matt a beer.

(Also, I will gladly trade it, even up, for either the T206 Wagner or the Baltimore News Ruth in the REA auction. No questions asked!)

Mine has a ball. As one of those nuts who likes to get all of the variations, I guess that means I'm now looking for a copy of the card without the ball. Well centered, decent corners, preferred.

I search for most known variations of sets that I attempt (although a few are rather ridiculous in some sets) but this one is "cool" on my list......I need one for my set......EX+ or better, decent centering.....anybody got a dupe of an example without the ball?......let me know

edited to add-----RAW.....I hate having to bust them out of those tombs

while I have the 1970 experts and collectors peering in, can anyone tell me if #424 Mike Kilkenny always appears with his card number in a white baseball on the back rather than yellow, i.e. an uncorrected "error"?

Yes, it is a UER. I don't believe anyone has ever reported a yellow one.
