< 2% I still have all my cards from when I was a kid so unless I sell them the vintage collection will never take over a large percentage of my collection.

Right now I am collecting 95% vintage and 5% people I enjoyed growing up (ex. Rickey Henderson, McGwire, Griffey, etc)

Anyhow, I will answer threefold:

Pre-I...."The War to End All Wars"

Allen & Ginters, Goodwins, T-type, Cracker Jacks = 55%

Pre-II...."The Big One" (as Archie Bunker called it)

Goudeys, Diamond Stars, Play Balls = 25%

Post WWII

Bowmans, Leafs, Topps, '59 Fleer = 20%

At least 90% of the value (though probably under 10% of the quantity).

It was (as of a couple of weeks ago) about 98% but now it's 100% after my VBC buddy Yawie convinced me
to give the shinies to the kids at the elementary school where my wife
teaches.
And i'm glad i did it.
They were super happy and i'm happy to be a 100% man now!

Only post war stuff that is truly part of my collection is my cards from my childhood. Not sure, and don't care, what the value of a 1971 and 72 Topps set is, since I will never sell them. So essentially, my collection is 100% pre-war, dollar-wise.

pre war gets special treatmant, whereas my 300 Bonds rookies and about 700 3-d's and a couple of high grade Kaline and
Willie Horton cards are scattered all about.

I have a run of Topps sets from 1975-1986, would those cumalitive cards count? Or are we only talking about singles? Either way, I judge based on a cards beauty, not what year it was made. 5-7% at most.

75% is pre-war after I consigned all my 50's 60's 70's stuff to Mastro a few years ago. Now I have all Pre-war and Minor League cards of future HOFers.. Of which, both are about equal in rarity.. JC

50%, but prewar comprises about only 10% of my entire collection (1992-99 & 2005).
Since February 2005, prewar is about 65% of my "rebirth (starting over) collection", the other 35% is personal nostalgia.

80% vintage Baseball (all pre-WWI)

20% vintage Boxing (of that, 80% pre-WWI; 20% exhibits and strips)
(sorry, but, yes, let it now be known, I am another one of those "impurest" co-existing boxing collectors ... insert smiley face here ...)

Because the values are shifting so rapidly on so many cards. "More than I should and less than I would like" would probably be the most accurate answer.

probably close to 5%. I recently am getting into it...mainly into the T206's and pre war hall of fame rookies. I like the e90's....but, money dictates what i buy...and i cant afford a lot of those cards.

Hmmm--probably 25-30%--maybe more. If my 150 T206 psa 8 commons are really worth a minimum of $2,500 and my psa 8 Goudey SportKings set $200K thenn probably more.

High grade prewar is the fastest appreciating sector of the market. The supply is truly limited.

This was kind of fun. I have all my graded cards entered in a simple Access database. Values are based on latest sales and various price guides. I created a report and exported it into Excel...

Pre-1945 55%
1946-current 45%

I was a little surprised thinking it would be more pre-war.
