Default June Pickups

Added another Aaron rookie, Johnston Cookies '54. I prefer this card to the '54 Topps aesthetically and I think it's cool that Hank didn't even have a number assigned when his picture was taken.

Very nice cards from all of you... I haven't seen another 1970 Blyleven either. Nice pickups on the Exhibit cards for $1 each...

Rob, do you collect HOF rookies? Here's my pickups for the month so far (some from end of May - didn't get them scanned til today).

HOF Rookie Cards

Got these back from PSA

Pulled this straight from vending box - but PSA got it for EOT. Will eventually buy a PSA 9.

Hoping to pick up a few more Bond Bread Jackie's in the next month.

Future HOF Rookie Cards

Also picked up a variety of recent Jackie Robinson cards from 2009-2011.

What does EOT mean? If you pulled it from a vending box, doesn't that make it a nice card on it's own, or does the opinion of some dork at PSA (or some other company) have more value to you than the card itself?

Just another dork who's curious,
Doug

Evidence of trimming...

Honestly, it definitely is a nice card on its own. With respect to valuing the card or the grade... the card is what I value most. As you can see, I have a variety of ungraded and graded rookie cards. In the end, however, I wouldn't mind the majority of my cards graded for registry purposes. I can't say it is of dire importance at this point though, which is why I won't look for a Sandberg for some time.

Wow, great pickups! Yes, I collect specifically Post-War HOF RCs, and like yourself, I like to pickup those future HOF RCs as well!

You can check out my collection of Post-War HOF RCs here:

I showed this one before raw, but just got it back from PSA...

This is certainly one of my favorite cards and happy to add a nice example to my collection...

That McCovey rookie looks like PSA 6 or SGC 50? Nice card!

Some more all time Cardinals. I'd never seen the Glo Art transfers before. Also, did you know Don Padgett hit 399 one season?

Great site John. I wish I had that many regional set options for Toronto team cards.

Regards,
