Default 1982 Topps Traded Cal Ripken Variation?

Hi all -

I usually don't start threads and the fact that I'm starting one over a missing dot - might mean I shouldn't start threads. Haha

Anyhoo...

I've been scanning my recent returns from PSA and noticed a difference in My 1982 Topps Traded Ripkens. The card on the left appears to be missing the period after Jr. While I didn't feel like looking at every 1982 Topps Traded Ripken on eBay - I did search all Ripkens in PSA holders and couldn't find one similar.

I tried doing some online searches, but couldn't find anything.

Could be just a defect - and there's a white printing line next to the Topps logo as well. Perhaps it's just a card with some odd printing spots (or in the case of the missing period - "non spots.")

No biggie. Just thought I'd share.

Red face ...

...oh, and I certainly do expect some good jokes and one-liners regarding this topic.

Could be a true variation. Errors in signatures missing dots have happened before like 1967 Topps.

Agree, don't feel bad. I've seen stupid threads and this isn't one.

There seems to have been a couple printings for 1982 Topps Traded.

Another variation exists where the stat area on back is gray, not pink/red, just cardboard color. Very few examples of these have turned up.
