Default What issue had the 1st 1/1 cards?

So I bought a 1998 card that was a 1/1 (football), and wondered what the first recognized 1/1 card was. I saw some 1989 Topps cards on COMC that are numbered 1 of 1, but they are stickers added after the fact at a convention. What do you say? Who created the first 1/1?

I believe it was either Pinnacle in 1997 or possibly the Flair in 98. I'm sure someone here will know for sure though.

Default It was one of the 1997 Fleer products

Which came out just before the 1997 National in Cleveland. Memory say Fleer Showcase but I'm not totally sure

We have my old contact Rich Bradley to thank for pushing that envelope

I'm seeing 1997 Pinnacle Printing Plates, so I guess that would qualify.

Nope.

1994 Edge football. "personal collection" or something like that. 200 cards all 1/1 each showing a highlight from the previous Superbowl. The odds were I think 1/4000 packs, maybe a bit more. I actually got one from a pack and still have it. They're not numbered, and it took me a few years to figure out what it was and that it was 1/1. Of course, it got no notice and they didn't promote them at all.

Speaking of 1/1s, I still have a signed Rich Klein 1992 Topps card that I received for something that is escaping me now, maybe a trivia question or entry through Becektt??? I know it's not the only one, but it was a fun way to mention it.

I would suspect because the 1992 National was in Atlanta.
