I always wonder who cut up that sheet.I always imagine in my mind ,someone at Topps in 1971 with a paper cutter. Must have been in a hurry or late for the meeting to proof the set !

Was able to upgrade my 1970s Team Issue photo (textured) and added another variation.

Were the the Bazookas ever issued from a sheet or just from the whole box?, in which case that looks to be quite a clean cut for, say, a seven year old...

The numbered 1971 bazooka were never issued as a full box, full of gum that you could buy at the grocery store. They were sheets cut up.. by someone... probably at Topps along time ago.

The numbered cards are on a white card stock, while the unnumbered "official release" is on grey card stock.
Numbered panels can also be found... Very rare to find the 3 card panel.

When I first saw this next item, I immediately noticed the color & clarity of the photo. When I compared it to the photo above, you can really tell the difference. I do believe that both were issued in the same time frame, but maybe the matted one was in a first print run and then later they printed more of a slightly lesser quality. I'll post a side by side to show the difference. The photo on the right is the more common variation. I believe the photo on the left was part of a small booklet (which Howard made reference to earlier), mine has been cut from that I believe.

Default The photo comes out of the frame

I believe it is the same issue (unless someone possibly reprinted it).

The next item(s) are a newer issue. I don't want to admit how many boxes of Cracker Jack I "ate" (threw out) to get these.

Thanks for the history. My only one is the more common un-numbered and I had forgotten there was a distinction, and when ever wondering of the distinction, just presumed they were all boxes, some printed with and some that came out w/o.

This is my new favorite "Clemente" pick up. I named my son after my childhood hero. Yesterday my switch hitting shortstop passed the Bar Exam. I couldn't be more proud of him.

That's great Mike! It takes great parenting to teach one to pass the bar.

It's not a reflection on MY parents that I had trouble passing several local bars.

I'm surprised every single one of those 1970 Mail-out Photos hasn't already been gobbled up by a hoarder at hugely exorbitant prices. Look at the very first person named in the photograph: Tony Bartirome!!!!!!!

Thanks Mark, I picked up 2 more today. I can't help myself. I think shots like these are art. I also think they are very under valued. The seller has a number of Clemente slide but the portraits I have been picking up are some of the better ones.

WHY can’t they have Brooksie slides that look this nice. Those appear professionally taken. I’d be nice to have these slides developed and would make for a nice, one of a kind, display.
