Default Third Party Shipping...

Posted By: Brad Green

Anyone on here have any experience (positive or negative) with third party shipping? I came across an eBay Live auction where the winning bidder is responsible for obtaining a third party shipper to pack and ship the cards. The auction house will deliver the cards to the third party shipper (whichever third party shipper the buyer chooses) and the shipper packs up the cards and sends them off.

I've never heard of that before. I might understand requiring a third party to pack and ship something really odd (like a row of 4 seats from an old stadium) but allowing someone else to handle cards seems very unsafe and risky.

"The auction house will deliver the cards to the third party shipper (whichever third party shipper the buyer chooses)"

Then why doesn't the auction house just deliver the cards directly to you

I think the seller does not want to spend the time boxing and packing the cards. If the seller pays the extra charge for this, I have no problem. Hey, sellers of cards or anything else drop their stuff off at Ebay seller locations all the time too. They just don't want the hassle of selling and shipping items. The just want whatever cash that item gets for them.
