Default 54 Topps in '55 pack

As a kid in Scottsbluff, NB, I bought a couple of 5-cent packs of Topps (6 cards) during the summer of 1955. I'll never forget opening the first pack and getting a 1954 card. I was really disgusted, because I paid good money for new cards and received one year-old one. Pack two had the same issue--#50, Yogi Berra '54 card was included. I still have that card. Anyone old enough to experience that, or remember that happening?

Default Packs

Corvette---I did not start opening packs until 1957, and while I have an unopened 54 and 55 pack, I don't think I will open them to see if there is an odd card in them . But that is very interesting. We just have to find some folks even older than me to ask about it. Also, you might want to ask the moderator to move this to the pre 1980 section where it may get more attention by collectors from that era

[QUOTE] I was really disgusted, because I paid good money for new cards and received one year-old one.

I guess 5 cents was considered "good money" in 1955!

Thanks for the am laugh.
