Identify this Ruth Exhibit
Has anyone seen this Ruth card before? It is identified by the seller as "1930s Exhibits George "Babe" Ruth White Stock, Scarce. Is this true?

My guess is that it is a fantasy piece, not from the 1930's at all.

Not an exhibit; never seen it before. Size and stock are wrong.

Never seen it before, but it appears to be cut off of something else. As old as the Babe looks in the photo, it may be related to the movie "Pride of the Yankees", but that's just a guess.

I owned this item at one time. I sold it very cheaply (5-10.00) and I believe it has changed hands a few times since I sold it. I got it in a box lot at an auction of sports items that ranged from the 1920s to the 1980s. I believe it to be (and sold it as) a book or magazine cutout that came out long after he passed away. My gut feel is that it is from the 1970s or 1980s. I wish I could be more helpful.

I don't know why but, to me, it looks like something from a Louisville Slugger ad, brochure or magazine.
In fact, the picture on this piece looks a LOT like the image on this item that just sold on eBay (Item number: 330704009614). David |

This card is currently auctioned by PWCC on ebay here:Link
I messaged the seller on ebay and referred to this thread, and Brent replied: "Interesting. I can say that this is not modern... the card stock is definitely vintage. Having been cut from a box (or similar) would make some sense." He didn't change the listing description, however. Oh well. |
