Default Best Loupe?

Hey, how are you guys doin! I have some cards I would like to have graded for my first submission, but I've heard that it is best to look at the cards yourself with a loupe. There is just one problem, there are tons of them! Are there any major differences with all these loupes? Is there such thing as a "best loupe" out there?

Bought a terrific loupe from Kevin Saucier on Net54 a couple of years ago. Has a black light on one side. Really great. Cost about $60 if I recall but worth every penny. Don't know who makes it but maybe search for that old post.

Tom, How big is it? I'm looking for a smaller lighted upgrade for field work, and a larger 'old man' version for desk work.

In general, go by the magnification you want. There will be difference in quality, but even the cheapest one should work.

I just bought one at Radio Shack. It was recommended to me by another collector. It has 3 different magnification lenses and cost around $10. It doesn't have a blacklight or anything, but it's a good basic loupe.

I like a 10x magnification for cards. I have a friend who is a jeweler who got me a nice one but really they are pretty much all the same.

I bought one for about $1 off ebay (a 10 power) and it seems to work just fine.

You can find anything you want at this website. I got mine here. There are models that are lighted with either white or black lights.

Good site Jim, I just picked up one of their basic home models to review my 1973 Art Shell's.

OH, you got the BASE version. I just picked up the premium version. It has slightly more knobs.

I've tried just about everything available regardless of price, this is by far the best:

Model #1004

Everyone that I've let use it has bought at least one.

You can also find several on their site with UV.
