Don't see anything that would be of interest to me. Looks like I will get a good nights sleep.

In the first 10 lots or so there are alarming similarities to last year's auction.

'09 Lot#1: Advertising Poster (CJ)
'08 Lot#1: Advertising Poster (E&J Burke)

'09 Lot#2: Wagner
'08 Lot#2: Wagner

'09 Lot#3: Ruth Rookie
'08 Lot#3: Ruth Rookie

Also in first 10 lots both years:

Top 10 PSA Registry T206 Near set
Game used Ruth cap
Butter Cream Ruth

Just found that interesting, that's all.

REA's auctions are not for the financially squeamish. This auction will separate the men from the boys.

is there a T207 Ward Miller anywhere to be had?

not being able to access auciton sites while at work, I think has saved me many multiples of my annual income each year...and probably my marriage and house, and countless other intangibles!

Amazing stuff. However, not a single 1909 Obak in the entire auction. Sigh.

Jason,

Lots of T207's. One lot of 150 cards. Another of 80 cards. You might have to ask for complete listings.

Oh yeah. There's also this lot of 32 (lot #390). You'll have to wait until after work to look, but yes, there's a Ward Miller in the lot (SGC40):

Well...there goes the 401K.

This is one of the nicest auctions I have seen in a long time.

Anyone want to join me on the lot of (7) W600 HOF'ers? I am only interested in the Cy Young.

I think we had decided here on the Board that such a thing did not exist or was something that could not be identified as such. Well, Rob has one!

It looks absolutely terrific. But are the estimates deliberately low? I'd probably buy half the lots in the auction if those estimates proved correct. Is there a strategy to this from the auctioneer's point of view?

Paul-

I think REA (and many of the others) put lower estimates in, looks better when something sells for twice as much!

Disappointing, but not surprising. The auction does look awesome, though. The Eddie Plank from the same lot as the Gretzky Wagner is certainly intriguing.

If I won the lottery I wouldn't have enough money to buy all the stuff I want in this auction. Anyone want to go with me on the 500+ lot of Old Judges. I'll contribute $ 1000. A lot of Detroit items, 19th Century, loads of 1953 Glendales ( I guess Charlie Conlon was hoarding these)!

Rob and his staff just keep topping themselves each year. I wouldn't worry too much about the low estimates..good stuff is going to go high.

Charlie Conlon's stuff is insane. He is missed in the hobby, but its nice that a lot of stuff that he loved is going to be made available to those who shared his passion.

I'm surprised that no one has commented yet on the fact that there are four E100 Buck Weavers in the auction. That's got to be a pretty fair percentage of the known population.

REA has a Don Hutson game used Green Bay Packers jersey. On multiple occasions I've theoretically picked a Hutson game worn Packers jersey as the single ultimate piece of football memorabilia one could own.
