Default DEREK JETER Experts Opinions ?

Calling all experts ! Just for fun , and since Jeter happens to be a popular topic on the board...what do you think of this Derek Jeter autograph ? Authentic ? Fake ? No pm's or e-mails , open discussion only...

Ok, I'll play. Normally I wouldn't even bother with my opinion on Jeter, but it seems like there's almost no curves to the bottom part of the letters in this autograph, and I believe all the one's I've seen authenticated have that, so I'd say it was bad based on that...but I reserve the right to flip flop at a moments notice.

Default Jester

Not a jester expert by any stretch... But this one looks like those that I have come across on his early 1990's classic and signature rookies cards

I say good

I'm not an expert but my gut feeling says the autograph is identical to one I saw on a card that was '93,,, Not exactly sure which card but that's what popped up in my memory when I saw the sig.

did a quick search here is the card

Like a poster mentioned, it's the same style from the circa 1994 signature rookies cards. Looks good to me.

If it's a forgery, it's done by a professional. The only glaring thing to me is the front loop of the D usually comes up at a 145 degree angle, giving it a flatter look, and this one is at 120 degrees making it seem more round.

Man ! you guys are GOOD ! and Mike don't feel bad as it would have caused me to pause too if I didn't know exactly where it came from.
Its a 1995 IN-PERSON Derek Jeter signed before his first major league at bat.

Well, I could have chimed in and announced it was a good, early signature, but since others had already stuck their necks out saying so, and Jim had already confirmed what the signature was, I felt it would be just a bit unnecessary.

So I didn't.

You mean like in the Prisco thread, when you felt it was probably unnecessary to comment any further after Leon posted the letter from Prisco's lawyer.

If you want a Jeter, these are the ones to get. The mass-produced Steiner sigs are about as rare as dirt and he may be signing them for anther 50 years. He won't be signing rookie sigs ever again.

This is def a legit Jeter. Rookie or pre-rookie era. Take a look at his Little Suns signed high school cards.

Edited to add: Ooops, I didn't read all the posts, so sorry Jim, I didn't see about your post answer.

Pretty sure they have some of that "Yankee Stadium Game-Used Dirt" signed by Jeter available....

Default Jeter

Some one say early Jeter autographs ?
Was quite the friend of the sharpie his one time through Rochester Ny. A few were obtained through Arizona Fall League as well. Yankees 8x10 obtained in person at early 90s all star game.

Most recent Jeter.

And Jeter signing the plate (was on front cover of paper that day)
