Default Diamond Stars Lopez; difference in #28 and #97

I have absolutely nothing to do, and while doing it I discovered a small difference between the images on DS Al Lopez #28 and #97. Look at the ball in #28. It shows blue markings, probably the artist's attempt at making the ball seem round.

Now look at the ball in #97 -- black "stitches" have been added. Question -- when did the stitches show up? Are there examples of #28 with them, or of #97 without them?

It seems odd that the original artwork would have gone back to the artist in between two printings to add stitches to the ball. My hunch is that you're just seeing some variance in the ink/printing, similar to registration issues more commonly noticed.

I have three Al Lopez Diamond Stars cards. Two are numbered 28. One is numbered 97. Scans are shown below.

the center flag turns from orange to red also. The top card is not missing red either.

The light patch of green appears net to his waist as well.
