Default Help me choose my next project!

Hi Net54,

I make Mosaic-style artwork from cut up cards. I recently finished a Nolan Ryan made from Nolan Ryan cards:

http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=267496

I am planning to do a Cal Ripken from Cal Ripken cards relatively soon. I have hunted down about 2500 Ripken cards, but I am having trouble choosing what image to make... What kind of Ripken artwork would you like to see? Topps Traded Rookie? Donruss Rookie? Minor League Card? Something newer? A portrait instead of a card? It would be cool to hear some feedback!

Ben

I just did a google image search of his cards.....not too many (if any) close up head shots....the most visually pleasing to me is the 1984 Topps.

P.S. your Nolan Ryan is fantastic,

Thanks! I do like the ‘84. It means I’d have to do two faces, but that would be challenging and fun. I appreciate the feedback!

Do the 1982 future stars card. That would be awesome.

While Cal is one of my favorites I think Mr. Oriole Brooks Robinson would be my choice. A nice ‘57 Topps would be awesome.

If you do stick with Cal I’d go for the ‘82 Topps traded and if you want to get crazy then the ‘93 Topps Finest.

You should consider the 1992 Donruss Diamond Kings. Or another diamond kings year. Those are some of my favorite cards

Hey Ben - there is another guy on Net54 who does the same thing as you with cards. Are you aware of him? His full name escapes me but I'm thinking it's Gary something....

Maybe someone else can link to one of his threads.

My inspiration for this kind of work came from here:

Based on one of his recent social media posts, it looks like Tim Carroll is working on that one
