This vintage card forum says its ... primarily about pre-WWII cards. Is it open discussion for those few years from 1948 to 1951 ? - Kind of those transition era cards. The famed '48 Leafs, the obscure 1948 Topps magic photos, the early bowman issues with rookies of Berra,Spahn and Satchel Paige - can these things be talked about in here? Or is there some other forum sites used for these "just after WWII cards"?

The forum rules pretty much state what can and can't be posted here. As a participating member you are allowed some OT's (off topic) posts. I don't consider the very early Topps/Leaf/Bowman questions too off topic (like politics, religion etc...) and usually let them go. In other words if you participate in other threads, and only start threads occasionally about those cards, you will be fine. I would prefer those posts not happen every single day, as then it wouldn't be "occasional". If you have 5 questions pertaining to those cards....and participate regularly....in 3-4 weeks you could ask all of them and not worry. Anyone is free to email me concerning these things and I get emails all of the time asking for guidance. I rarely say "no" when I am emailed about something. Otherwise, the Beckett boards and the Collectors Universe boards probably talk about this stuff more than we do. A lot of Net54 board members do collect these years of cards so feel free to post about them....occasionally....best regards

A regular poster started a thread about the 1948 Leaf set recently, so these cards have been discussed on this site. The PSAcard.com chat board would be a place where 1940s-50s can be talked about all you want, as there they talk about baseball cards from all years ... I'd skip the Beckett Board, not because there's anything wrong with it but because it seems half the board are minors and the talk is about the today's stuff. Not much talk about 1950s Bowman and Topps.

I like the Pre-War concept. If 1951 is OK, then why not 1952 Topps...a very classic set.

There is a vintage part of the Beckett board; while usually it's just basically a buy/sell/trade board -- there is some good information that shows up occassionally. I know you are probably not aware of that, so this is just an FYI

I think that's a good place as well for the 40's-50's discussion

Regards
Rich
