Default Show Me Your Rare Type Cards From The New Poll - Minimum SGC 30 Grade

Posted By: Jon Canfield

In keeping with the great new poll we have, I thought it may be a nice addition to the "show and tell" threads to start one that depicts cards from the above mentioned notoriously low-condition sets that have met a minimum grade of SGC 30. Below is my contribution - the nicest Lections there are.

They aren't on the list, but they should have been. All pulled a 30 except Magee. He got a 20.

Wow, I really love this thread and those Lections are incredible.

Dylan, do you really own those cards?

In another thread, you said you only own a couple of inexpensive cards...

Wonderful e107 scans anyways.

DJ

No I dont own the cards I scanned, i just thought id share them with everyone as its very difficult to find examples like these. I wouldve posted that, but i didnt realize people were posting only cards that they themselves owned. To respond to my previous statement, I do actually own some pretty expensive vintage cards. I was speaking relative to some of the board members here, as ive seen and heard of some incredible collections. Ive have been several hundred dollars a month on vintage so my collection while not grandious is taking form. Not any particular set, id like to have an example of every set possible.

These are 1940's PCL SIGNAL OIL VIS-ED cards similiar to the 1949 cleveland Vis-ed cards. They are very unique an the first discovered I believe of its kind.

Oh Dylan - now I know why you ignored my offer for the Cobb rookie -- you don't own it! Perhaps you dressed for Halloween as Cobb in the E102.

I think my title may have been misleading. I don't personally think there was any problems with Dylan posting the scans of the cards. I've certainly posted items on the board before that I didn't own, but usually try to put a disclaimer in (if I remember to). I can see how someone would overlook the disclaimer or just not even think about putting the disclaimer in. In fact, I've noticed above that Dylan's original post has not been edited, and it simply states "Three beautiful examples", not something like "Three of MY beautiful examples". I don't think he was trying to deceive anyone. On the same token, i'm not trying to take sides here - just giving my thoughts. Regardless, I'm glad the 3 scans above were posted. My intentions in starting the thread were to see some nice type cards in "uncommon" condition - most of which I'll never have the opportunity to own. I'm happy I got to see the 2 E107's especially, regardless of who they belong to.

[Edited to add the part about how I noticed Dylan's post was "unedited" and to fix some spelling]

Sean, Dylan posted that the cards in this thread were not his. However, in the thread entitled "favorite cards in your collection" - which he started - he posted the Cobb rookie card. I then emailed him an offer for the card, foolishly thinking he meant what he said. Of course he ignored my email. I then found the original ebay auction for the card and then sent and received an email back from the true owner of the card.
