Default Goudy?

Pardon my ignorance (or repetition of a prior posting on this), but is the "Goudy Gum" company the same as the "Goudey Gum" company? Name changed? Error on the R1 backs (how do you get your own company's name wrong?)? I'm confused....

"Goudy Gum" back reference -- http://www.ebay.com/itm/R1-Goudey-Ac...4AAOSwom1ZinFh

Sample 1933 "Goudey" back -- http://www.ebay.com/itm/1933-Goudey-...UAAOSwwKtZjHsh

The card posted mentions OH BOY gum, which was produced by Goudey, and they were located in Boston.

Perhaps when they made these cards they spelled it 'Goudy' so as to show future Ebay sellers how they could successfully misspell it in their listings.

Very interesting Jeff, I don't remember that coming up before. It's got to be the same company. Poor proof reading?

I sure hope "CHUNX GUM" was a misspelling too...
