The interesting thing about this card below is that I've owned once before-

This has been discussed ad nauseum and agreed to be all (especially me). If you post a larger than 1x scan you will probably be asked to redo it smaller. For real small items (pins etc) 1.5x might be ok. I apologize for the inconvenience of having to redo them but it is for the good of the board...thanks

Not a card, but the cover is made out of cardboard (ok, at least somewhat semi-stiff paper) and it's a great shot of Mathewson (or at least a different picture of Matty, and used for a later dust jacket of his book Pitching in a Pinch)

First I picked up four more E95's for my set (Doyle, Chance, carrigan, and Willetts) although I only have a scan of the Doyle right now...

I also was lucky enough to pick up this...

Now, not exactly the vintage tastes of this board, but about 10 years ago, I bought a signed Elston Howard 1960 Topps. Soon after, I purchased a gorgeous 1960 Maris Topps signed card. At that point, I decided to try to put together a Yankee autographed team set from the 1960 Topps issue. I have been able to find every card, INCLUDING the Duke Maas (who is absolutely the hardest card to acquire since he passed away so early) and the coaches card signed by all for coaches. All the cards have been authenticated except I was missing the damn mantle - until now!

I got it from a lurker on this board who picked it up about 15 years ago. He is a friend I have known for about 15 or 20 years. It was raw when I bought it. Just got it back from PSA today (along with the Matty).

I had 2 of these recently authenticated by PSA. I sent one back in hopes of getting a numerical grade. I have a scan of another graded copy (PSA 5) with almost exact size and cut, except mine was cut nicer and straighter, and overall is more appealing. The pictured one is on heavier card stock and has different text as the other. The other copy says Amatuer Golf Champion. I like them... atleast its a strip card with an action shot.

Jim B- I am totally purple with envy over the violet Cobb you picked up. It's one of the color variations I have been hunting for for a long time and only one of three violets I have ever seen, the other 2 being a GAI 5 (shown here) and a poor graded GAI one. Congrats.

Tbob, Does that purple Cobb belong to you? That card is beautiful. I agree that purple might be the toughest or second toughest of the six different E94 color variations. Yours, JimB's and a really ratty GAI 1 Poor one are the only three purple E94 Cobbs that I have seen in the five years that I have been looking for them.

Nice pickups Tbob and JimB!
