Default October Pickups

Local Craigslist ad pickup today. She had a lot more autographed items but most of them with sketchy 1990s card shop COAs. The 2004 World Series ball is signed by Ortiz and has a Steiner sticker. The SI Cover is Upper Deck Authenticated, and the Hank Aaron ball is Score Board.

Very happy with these three pickups. I had been casually looking for a Betty Grable cut that I could frame with the famous pinup image of her in the one piece swimsuit showing off her legs and other assets. Interesting that two fell into my lap at the same time, both at a really good price point.

And the DeWolf Hopper (Casey At The Bat) is terrific being on his personal stationary.

Got some pretty sweet items last night. Here's how the auction house described the lot. "Russell Athletic Dallas Cowboys football jersey, with an embroidered "25" star sewn on left chest, and screened with the numbers "84" and "Bush" on the upper back, size 44, signed on the back in black felt tip, "G. Bush, 1-16-98" and "G. W. Bush." This was one of the two jerseys that the Dallas Cowboys football team—represented by Coach Tom Landry and quarterbacks Roger Staubach and Danny White—gave to President Ronald Reagan and Vice President George Bush at the Republican National Convention held at the Loews Anatole on August 22, 1984; the "25" star signifying the silver anniversary of the Cowboys franchise. Also included is a color semi-glossy 9.75 x 7.75 photo of Reagan and Bush holding up their respective jerseys, signed and inscribed in the lower border in black felt tip, "To Ron Wade, my friend, Good luck, George Bush," and a color glossy 10 x 8 photo of Bush standing next to Wade just moments after signing the jersey, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, "To Ron Wade—Good Luck—George Bush." Reverse of both photos bear collector's notations indicating that the photo and jersey signatures were obtained in the former president's Houston office on January 16, 1998. In overall fine condition.

Very cool piece that also includes a book about the jersey.

Very excited to get 2 baseballs signed by Chelcie Ross (Eddie Harris from the movie, Major League).

The first is my "Major League" signed ball. Chelcie put a great signature right under Snipes. Unfortunately I'm still missing Sheen though. I sent out the ball for the MAB signing in August, and Sheen refused to sign any mail order items... UGH!

The second ball is just a stand-alone ball. Chelcie put a great signature on the sweet spot and added his "Jobu" quote on the side panel!

Happy to pick up this 8x10 Burke photo with a vintage Greenberg sig (probably late 30's/early 40's). Obvious condition issues on the border, but couldnt pass it up.

Default Charlie "Many Hit" Robertson playing day signed cut

It seems like I continue to pick up unusual Charlie Robertson related items in 2017.
Many thanks to net54's Jeff Potter for selling me this unusual playing day autograph cut of CWS perfect game pitcher Charlie Robertson.
Charlie was obviously having some fun when he signed this ledger or team sheet most likely sometime between 1922-1928. Instead of Charlie, he instead signed it "Many Hit" Robertson, which is an obvious wink that prior to signing it he hurled a no-hit, no-run game that was the first game to ever be called a "perfect game" by the newspaper scribes the next day.

I consigned a team sheet signature where he signed “No hit Robertson” to LOTG auction this winter.

Thanks Gary!
Taz, I have seen Robertson sign with the "No-Hit Robertson" moniker as well.
Perhaps it was your team sheet?

Got to meet Tom Hanks this morning so I had him sign a baseball for me. As he was signing it, he turned to me as said "Avoid the Clap... that's good advice"! Awesome.

That's awesome, Jon. However that is one signature I would never be able to decipher if I came across that ball in the wild.

Today, I picked up from the post office a piece that has been several years in the making. The original U.S. Men's Basketball Olympic Dream Team. I originally purchased the piece from Heritage Auctions June 16. 2013 and it already had been signed by Clyde Drexler, Chris Mullin, David Robinson, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley and Christian Laettner. I purchased it knowing it would be a challenge to complete, but I figured I'd give it a run. I had Michael Jordan sign it on July 1, 2013 via Upper Deck Authenticated. John Stockton signed it on November 15, 2013 at Deseret Book in Salt Lake City, Utah. Patrick Ewing signed it in December 2013 via Steiner Sports send in signing. And finally, after almost four years, I landed Karl Malone in October 2017 through Press Pass Collectibles send in signing. Simply put, the greatest assemblage of basketball talent ever on one team. This one is going in my permanent collection. It's a keeper

The pictures are too large to upload here but you can see them at this link. https://m.facebook.com/NavarrosNook/

Mike,
I would try Flickr. Easy to use. Separate albums and the links give you the options for different sizes.

Default M101-2s

Starting to build some momentum by acquiring five more examples from Doc Steen's amazing collection of signed M101-2s. There are 54 total from that collection, and now I've got 17 of them! Let me know if you want to sell or trade me any others!

Default Derek Jeter Autographed Baseball Super Rare

My latest pick-up is a Derek Jeter autographed baseball.

What makes this so unique is the fact that it's his 1994-sig on a baseball.

This is super rare!!!

true i have jeter as a saved search and i don't think i've seen this style sig on a ball...looks a little out of place actually. they're usually on a classic card of some kind.

You're right about that.

I have three of his "1994 Signature Rookies" autograph cards, but that was the first time I observed his 1994-circa autograph on a baseball.
