Default Cap Anson-Anson Baseball Club Framed and Matted cover

I picked this one up this weekend from a fellow board member, got it back from my framer today only to realize that it doesn't really fit in with my collection...

I believe it to be a the front page of a score card/program from Cap Anson's Anson Colts... It appears that the team was in existence for only one year 1907 and did so poorly at the gate that Cap suited up on many occasions in attempt to sell some seats...

cover has some folds, but does display very nicely... the cover is in lucite, has been single matted (no adhesive on cover) and professionally frramed in an 8x10 frame

Great piece, and a nice affordable way to get a piece from a very early hall of famer...

$65 pp gift shipped

According to Anson's SABR biography, the team played in the Chicago City League for three seasons. Anson played first base in 1908, and then sold the team after the 1909 season. The Chicago Daily News website has some photos of this team dated 1908 and 1909.

Nice piece -- The framing alone is probably close to the asking price!
