Default 19th century football pin

Posted By: Keith

I posted this on the memoribilia forum a while back, but wanted to pick the brain of the footballaphiles on this board. This is a pin/button I have that is cloth covered and reads Harvard Springfield 91. I believe this button was worn for a game between the two schools in 1891. The pin-pack apparatus (or whatever apparatus was there) is missing, so not sure how it was originally attached. Has anyone seen a football button like this before? Any idea on value?
Thanks guys

That is pretty neat! I don't collect these, so I cant help on value. I can tell you that Harvard/Springfield was played 10/31/1891 with Harvard winning 34-0. They finished 13-1 with a loss to Yale.
