Default 48 Leaf Auto Robinson

Could anyone give me the estimated value of a 48 Leaf Sugar Ray Robinson, #69 that is autographed on front. Estimated condition would be excellent/psa 5-6ish but the value would obviously be in the signature. Also, would this card autographed be considered rare/hard to find. Thanks for your time/opinions

Default Well, In This Economy

All bets are off. However, prior to the fall 1951 Ringside Robinsons with autographs sold for about $300; I got mine for around $280, I think, but that was a while ago. I think I've seen one 48 Leaf before; can't remember what it sold for.

Sugar Ray is not that rare of an autograph; he was a pretty active and accommodating signer but he also became demented and died relatively young. You would definitely need to have it slabbed by one of the major players to realize best value. I'd suggest then consigning it to an auction. If I was retailing it I would be looking for $300 or more.

As Adam said. Also, his signature is not rare but his wife also did a ton of signing for him, especially later in life.

Default Thanks guys...

The only leaf boxing auto I could find was the Joe Louis, a tougher auto that sold for $1000 in 06 so I wasnt sure of the sugar ray card from that set.

I've also seen a Dempsey but I didn't think it was authentic.
