Picked up some eclectic stuff at the Antique Show today....Piedmont cigarettes matchbox (full), Little pinkies baseball pinback from 1896, late 19th-early 20th century scorekeeper and a Helmar stamp (non baseball) envelope.

Just incredibly beautiful K Bats Preece, many cards turn up that are amazing - but pieces like this really deserve the tag extraordinary!!!

Can I ask, I notice that the Keefe tapers down-and-in on both sides of the card.....did you purchase it slabbed, or if not, were you concerned that the cuts might not be original?
I have very little up close experience with the Kalamazoos, were the cuts on this issue regularly all over the place or is this an unusual example?

Kind regards
Daniel

The cards were graded today. I have seen the very best K-Bats collection up close and it appears that many of the K-Bats come with very "non standard" cuts. The Keefe does not have a wavy right side, and no pressure imprints which is what you would tend to find on a trimmed card. Both of these cards are from the Copeland auction.

I imagine it's going to be one very special evening..... I assume they won't get put away tonight - and that you'll be picking them up every 10 minutes just to feel the thrill of having them in your hands. I'd be grinning for a week!!! At least!!!

Kindest regards
Daniel

Many thanks to Terry Knouse and Don Johnson for helping me advance my Philadelphia type collection this weekend!

This pales in comparison to Patricks cards but I'm just happy to have it as a type.

Preece - let me be the latest to say those k bats are incredible.

Here are my latest.

Three or four are overgraded IMO due to spots of paperloss on the reverse but the fronts all look sharp. A few, such as the coveleskie and evers, appear to be severely undergraded.

Hey Quan,

These are all new cards to me. I still have my sgc 40 wagner and will likely be selling whichever of the two I think looks worse. The cards are not "in hand" yet. Based on the scans, the psa wagner has a nicer front, but the back is not as clean. Unfortunately, the Chance is one of the cards that I feel is overgraded. It has a very small spot of paperloss on the reverse - though it does present real nice.

nice e93s everyone, josh urs appear much nicer than the grade so a little paper loss is ok. there's an e93 revival movement, i knew i should've held onto them!

edited to add: now i guess i know who the big players were on the mastro e93 lots. congrats to josh, AP, and king.

just this as my prize for winning the football pick 'em pool. And I don't even like football or follow it, lol. Theperfect addition to my collection and it now give me a Virgina Extra type card. Thanks

This card has not recieved the Dorskind/Crandall seal of approval.

Jay

I like to sit outside, drink beer and yell at people. If I did this at home, I would be arrested. So, I go to baseball games and fit right in.

I loved looking at those E93's. Thanks for posting them and thanks for all the information and wisdom you guys bring to this board. I noticed that many of the cards (PSA) were in holders that were nearly double the size fo the card. Is anyone else puzzled/irritated of PSA not making holders that "fit" the card. Some of the E93's above are nearly diagonal in the holder. I have a bunch of these which i want fit into holders that are the proper size. I do have many cards that are in the correct size but a substantial amount more that are not. Why does PSA do this? Will they correct this if brought to their attention? Seems a good way to turn a "ex" card into "vg" without ever leaving the holder.

Your comments reflect one of the big complaints that many have about psa's slab.
