Default Bad Choice

I am ready to buy all Strausberg cards that sold for more than ten thousand and up for $20 cash. If you have a better offer please email me.
The question is how many guys can you remember that people thought would be the next Koufax, Ryan, or Johnson?

the guy who bought the Strasburg for 16k and sold it two weeks later for 25k looks brilliant, the guy who bought it for 25k ... not so much!

modern card logic.... will never make sense to me!

I feel sorry for the kid. He has a great arm and hopefully he can make the comeback. It's difficult for me to get into baseball anymore but he certainly got me interested the times he pitched. Medicine has come a long way and don't be surprised it he doesn't come back as strong as ever.

It's always a bad bet on any new pitcher, injuries come often. Remember Mark Fidrych? RIP.

The problem with thinking someone's the next Babe Ruth is if he turns out to be the next Jimmie Foxx you're disappointed.

Default Stephen Strasburg

It's really is a shame that he suffered his arm injury so early in his career. He certainly hit the MLB scene with more fanfare than just about anybody in recent years.

With absolute certainty very few power pitchers have enjoyed lengthy careers without losing velocity or sustaining a devastating arm injury. Ryan, Carlton, Feller, Walter Johnson and Randy Johnson are rare exceptions... Leon, I would add Clemens in there too, but how much of what we saw over the last 8+ years of his career was real vs. PED?

One thing to keep in mind is that some people that undergo the Tommy John procedure actually come back stronger. There have been some pitchers in recent years that have actually gained a couple of MPH on their fastball....

Let's hope that young Strasburg comes back strong and gives us more opportunity to see his talent!
