All the dark ink appears to be too high. The collar has a shadow that reaches up to his face; the black vertical stripe on his uniform shirt overlaps his sleeve. What a great card, and I've never seen that error before.

That Howard card is one of my favorite t206 cards ever. Wish I bought it way back when I had the chance. Good luck JV,If you get one I'll be over to see it the day you get it!

Looks like a blurred overprint in regards to the collar and shirt.

hello all,

if i have not reponded individually, heres my interest..as most of u know i collect these t206 oddities..i had lost this particuliar card to a "whale" of sorts a few years back on ebay, i beleive it went $500...i flubbed and didn't get the ribid...anyway, i'm a sore loser and regret not winning it!!i beleive i have seen only one other where the name field was close, but not like the del howard....
i have off registers and double exposures of sorts, but none like barry said , where the name was totally shifted...thanks johnny btw, check out that part sheet # i picked up!!...
i will pay a competitive price..
if anyone has another, please post!!

= )

As I said in the other thread on the main board, the dealer was selling his t206s by the fronts. Most had back damage with real nice fronts. He had a stack of 4 that was the Cubs infield. Tinker, Evers, Chance and Steinfeldt. He said he would only sell as a group. I tried to talk him out of the Steinfeldt for an hour with no luck. I went home and grabed about 30 of my rarest 206s and went back and bought the card for 50 bucks after 10 minutes of talking and showing him my cards.
I think he will be checking backs after we talked.
