Default Babe Ruth Needle Kit

I thought this was close enough for govt. work to add this to my collection of Ruth items. My snipe was a fair amount higher as I thought it was kind of neat. Anyone else have one of these, seen more, thoughts on price?? I guess back in the day anything that had the Babe's name on it would be a good selling idea....

I've seen a few of those around, and I think owned one. NEVER saw the name of Babe Ruth on it, and think maybe it was typed on to make it worth more. The 20.00 price sticks in my head for one I think I had a few years back.

Hope Im wrong, but I don't think thats a legit "Babe Ruth specific" item. HELP SOMEONE ELSE to verify please.

In looking at it in person you might be absolutely correct. That is another reason I posted this (so I could find out more). The seller looks like a good seller so, depending on other thoughts I might be contacting them. That letting of BABE RUTH certainly looks like it could have been put on much later....LL

ps...I should add that the seller has a very good refund policy which I will be taking advantage of, unless other info comes out. That lettering for "Ruth etc..." looks much newer than the rest of the lettering and has a very light "made in Japan" under it.

I also agree with Scott. I've seen these in the past sell for around $30 or so. I've only seen them say "Made in Japan" at bottom. I would definately say that the "Babe Ruth" was added recently. I cant provide a picture immediately of one but maybe someone else can.

All I can find are these

The Ruth notation on the one Leon won looks odd, and maybe recent. But I'd want to see it in hand to be sure. I could also see something like that being overprinted for sale during one of the tours of Japan, and it does look sort of like a Yankees logo on the hat.
If it was typeset I'd like it a lot more than if it's stamped, and if it's laser printed then we can be certain it's recent.

Thanks for the feedback. I do have it in hand and there is no doubt in my mind that the Ruth wording was put on it much later. Those words have much darker lettering than anywhere else on it. That dark black lettering almost looks stenciled. It is not laser printed and I don't think it's typeset either. At any rate I have requested a refund. It was worth the try and the learning experience is almost as valuable as what I paid, imo.
