Default Show anything & everything related to Umpires

I just love a play at the plate. It's as if time stops and you have to wait 1/2 second before the ump makes the call. Either way the fans are going to cheer their butts off or go nuts w/ boos and insults.

Default Nice Idea for a Thread Anthony!

Here are a pair of Game Used Al & NL Umpire hats from the 1970's. Both show heavy wear and lots of infield dirt. Something you don't see that often.

Here are my Hall of Fame umpire autos. I have a Bill Klem on the way to complete the collection.

Leon, those cards are really neat! Also, Mighty-B, those umpire autos are really impressive.

Here are a couple of Al Barlick signed pieces...

Default Safe or Out?

Umpire Bill Summers caught a ton of flack on this one...

Funny thing is, it had nothing to do with the outcome of the game, although now, many regard it as the turning point for the Dodgers in winning their lone title for Brooklyn.

To this day, Yogi swears Robby was out. Here is a view rarely seen. What do you think?

Jimmy, until recently, I have always thought that Robinson was out and it was a bad call. Yogi Berra is indeed still adamant to this day that he was out. With that said, I recently say the Bob Costas umpire interviews he had on the MLB channel and they showed different angles of the play that I had never seen before. Now I'm not so sure and may even be leaning to the fact that he was safe.

Here's a rare one, in the current Heritage Signature Auction closing April 23. It's the only known SSBB from umpire Bob Emslie, best remembered as the base umpire for the famous "Merkle's Boner" game.
