Default Help Identifying Unique Christy Mathewson PC

Hi everyone,

After a few years on the board and successfully completing more than a few deals, I am making my first post seeking some community expertise!

I recently won this unique Christy Mathewson 1900s postcard and would like to try to identify more information about the photo. Can you identify that this is actually Christy? Possible clues in the uniform? or the message on the back? (which I cant exactly decipher due to handwriting.)

What I know:
1) Postage date appears to be 08/21/1907 from Parkersburg, Iowa to Wagner, South Dakota.
2) The top message says "This was taken after the game with ???? and my face was sweaty"

Thanks and I hope this is fun!

Tough to tell from that photo but would be shocked if that's actually Matty.

Whoever that is his initials are F. H. It says on the back "This was taken after the game and my face was sweaty." So the sender is the person on the front.

"This card was taken after the game with bloomers and my face was sweaty."
"How did you and bloomer girls come out? I wish you could see our bunch. We certainly have the best bunch of hitters in the country. Come on the invite is goot in the invite. How is Julia, etc.?" - F. H.
That's what I've got as the transcription. Well, you've got the city of postmark and that his team just played a group of bloomer girls. Guess the microfiche is the next step, looking for a lineup card with player having F. H. initials.

Still an interesting postcard when you include the written content. Much better than this “Christy” tintype I ran across today (complete with COA).

I found mention of several games the Bloomer Girls(apparently a local team), played around Davenport in August 1921, against several boys school teams, but no box scores.
