The start time for the live auction killed this Boston guy. I went to bed as the high bidder on two items, but lost in the live session.

I thought there were a good number of items that went well under what I would have expected. Some certainly went for strong bids, but looking through the prices this morning, I thought there were some bargains for sure...

First half of the auction (most of the cards) had the live auction last night. Second half (more memorabilia, autographs, etc.) goes off at noon today.

I got skunked after chasing a big lot (for my pockets).
unfortunatly a slew of lots I would have put another bid on (d304's the single N36's) were already closed....sooo many cards I collect, and nothing... I found myself really disliking the format, perhaps staggering the closing times or running it over multiple days ??

...probably just sour grapes and a rainy morning after.

Default nothing for my collection

Nothing for my collection but did get some of the D304's. They were very low priced in my opinion....but, what do I know?

I used to gripe about their website (to them too) but have come to like it now. I still don't care for mixing live bidding with phone and internet but last night I thought it was only internet? At any rate I watched all of my lots close and was happy when they did.

Funny story. You know you are an addict when.....

I was talking on the phone with a friend while some lots were winding down. I thought one I had bid on was really low, and it only had about a minute left on it. So, while I am talking to my friend about it, trying to up the bid, I hit the submit button....but the time had run out .......then I saw I was already the high bidder and won the lot ....My friend and I laughed about that one.

I won 4 lots from them. I really like the individual closing times, rather than dragging things out until 4 in the morning......makes bidders **** or get off the pot!

There was no live part of the auction for yesterday for the cards. Jonathan from Heritage confirmed that here:

link

Basically, at 10pm CST, all lots entered extended bidding with the 30 minute rule with each lot closing individually.

I thought that many lots that I followed went for really low prices. Both Magie's, I thought were really good deals. I really wish I had more cash on hand to put in a few bids. The Neilson Chocolate Type 2 near set, I thought also went for a good price.

Some lots did go higher than I expected. A Neilson Chocolate Type 1 Ruth didn't meet reserve at $800 (before BP), and I purchased one on ebay (from Mile High) in the same grade for less than $600. Similarly a Willard Chocolate Cobb went for more than I thought it would. There were others like it, but in general, I thought prices were really good where I really wish I had more cash to spend on cards.

My first Wagner! I was more than a bit nervous bidding on this, but a PSA 2.5 went for several hundred dollars more in REA 2010, so I think I did okay.

I picked up the group of T209, T210, T206, and T205 cards. The e107 group went for more than I expected. Any thoughts on what drove that or the valuation of the Young?

I got the E90-1 Speaker...a card I was after for a while, and this one was the best I'd seen.

Cheers,
Blair

The Neilson Type 2 lot went to me...along with the Johnson/Harris Exhibit lot and one of the PSA 9 1967 lots. Let me know if there are any individual cards you might be interested in!

Outstanding pickup Blair. I almost jumped into the fray as this would have been a very nice upgrade for me but alas, there is too much stuff on the horizon. Congrats!

Sorry Tom...apparently you and I were the only bidders on that lot......if it makes you feel any better, if you had bid again, I would have gotten out.....
