Default T206 reprint question

Posted By: Jeff McKee

Hi Everyone,
I recently received a few T206 cards from a seller on ebay. When I got the cards I didnt have alot of time to look them over, today I finally had some time. After looking at the cards they all looked good except a Mathewson w/dark hat. I know on t206's that the lettering is always brown and the lettering is thinner looking, on this card it is brown as well but the lettering is a little thicker. Also the black border is not dark black and the sovereign back is a little lighter green then the other sovereign back that I have. The card does not look to be a reprint and if it is I am a total moron and cant see it. My question is has anyone else seen t206's that are like this or am I totally missing something here. Sorry I cant get my pictures up loaded if you think you can help me send me a email and I will send some pictures.
Thanks, Jeff

Default T206 reprint question

Posted By: Scott

I'll give my opinion. I have owned 6-8 of the black caps and have scans of all that I can send you if interested.

I would not be concerned about the ink being too dark or too light - it really varies a lot based on how much ink it was printed with and how much wear and exposure to the elements it's had.
